Visa Extension

Extend your leave to remain in the UK. On-time, accurate submissions with expert OISC guidance.

Visa Overview

If your current UK visa is approaching its expiry date and you wish to remain in the UK, you will need to apply for a visa extension (formally known as Further Leave to Remain or FLR). Extensions are available for most visa routes including Skilled Worker, Student, Family and other categories.

Submitting your extension application on time — ideally before your current leave expires — is critical. Overstaying your visa has serious consequences for future immigration applications. Our advisors monitor your deadlines and ensure your extension application is submitted accurately and promptly.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend applying at least 3 months before your current leave expires. This gives adequate time for processing and for responding to any requests for further information.

Overstaying is a serious breach of immigration law. It can result in removal, a re-entry ban and difficulties with all future UK visa applications. Contact us immediately if your visa has expired.

Generally, you should not leave the UK while your extension application is pending as this may be treated as a withdrawal of your application.

If you apply to extend before your current leave expires, Section 3C of the Immigration Act automatically extends your current leave conditions while your application is being decided.
